Swedish Toasts

Flatbread

Traditional Scandinavian flatbread — thin, crisp, and made with buttermilk and oatmeal.

  • 1 qt. Buttermilk
  • 4 C. Flour
  • 4 C. Oatmeal
  • 1 lb. Lard
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Soda
  • 1 C. Sugar

Knackebrod

Mix ingredients. Roll very thin. Bake at 350 degrees. Check oven when hardtack is golden brown take out. Cool before cutting.
